Mira ó Vestido 2005

Fashion Design workshop at MAM (Museu de Arte de Macau)
starting point: "Blue Fascination: the art of Joan Miró and Pablo Picasso" exhibition

This workshop is designed to explore the bounders between fashion design, painting and sculpture in the contexts of the "Blue Fascination: the art of Joan Miró and Pablo Picasso". It aims to let the students learn about the process of producing a dress: modeling, cutting, joining the parts and intervene on the cloth surface.
However, the cloth in use is a canvas in which motifs inspired by Miró and Picasso artworks will be added.
Additionally, the dress will be transformed into a "sculpture". Other "accessories" collected by the students will be added to the final piece.
This workshop will have a large focus in the creative process used by Miró and Picasso, especially to the look of garbage as a strong and potential element for artwork.
