Lemon Juice to a Lamp 2007

Product Design workshop at MAM (Museu de Arte de Macau)
starting point: "my juicer isn't meant to squeeze lemons, it is meant to start conversations" by Philippe Stark

‘From Lemon Juice to a Lamp’ is a product design workshop where participants will be introduced to several issues and knowledge interacting in the design world, creating products that go far behind pragmatism; Design follows Function.
Participants will be invited to think, create and develop one Lamp. One Lamp that more than lighting its functionalist performance can first and foremost illuminate its power to see and reflect cultural behaviors and new appropriations in society.
The ‘Juicy Salif’ is an icon of contemporary design. Its recognition raises different and sometimes even paradox perspectives: function versus emotion. But as its creator, Philippe Starck put the question ”my juicer isn't meant to squeeze lemons; it is meant to start conversations’. This workshop is based on this suggestive statement.
