Indiscreet Door 2007
Urban Photo-Art workshop at MAM (Museu de Arte de Macau)
starting point: "Rear Window" by Alfred Hitchcock
"Indiscreet Door" is a workshop that takes its resource from the perception of the city landscape. As an urban mesh where several micro social and cultural sub-worlds take place.
Using as a starting point the city of Macau and its architecture, we invite participants to look to and through a specific element in the city landscape the 'door'.
The 'door' is one common architecture element that can be seen as a passage between the inside and the outside of a building. Suggesting that far behind from what can be seen through its opacity there is space for a new, suggestive and different environment.
Developing this idea we will invite participants in a first instance to register by photography several doors in the city of Macau.
After this first research, participants will be invited to think and create their own and imaginary scene that can be taking place behind that specific 'door'.
During the walk through Macau, participants will be also introduced to several and different parts of the city (as a route where different environments and citizens take role) allowing them to create their own inside world where creativity and sensibility can be melt with social and cultural differences.
